I know most doesn't fit, American Sport Bike etc all have a note that say the kit they offer doesn't fit the 08 due to the increased steering angle. I came across this one from Toby, so I asked the guys, and they say it fits? Asked again to be sure, 2008 XB12X with 74° steering angle, (even specified that this is 20° more than previous models) and 56mm tubes. They still say it fits...

Has anyone tried this one? I really don't want to go through the hassle with order and return if it doesn't fit. Input appreciated : )

CRIKEY, that is an expensive bit of kit!

I want one for my 10', but I had no idea it would be that expensive.

is this correct?

seems to be the going rate for most dampers...

When I raised the question on the forum all I got was...what in gods name would you want to put that on your uly for? Do you even know what a damper is for...

Never got around to buying one and probably putting the uly on the market after this weekend's ride...so I guess I'll never know but i've definitely had a couple experiences where the damper would've given a bit more confidence..

Good luck with it if you pick it up...

Just updating, I went with an LSL damper in the end, picked up a second hand unit. Underslung, boss mounts to the front engine isolator, rod to the right fork leg.

The stroke is less than the steering angle, I already knew that, so I glued a piece of rubber between the frame / triple tree steering angle limiter on each side. Guess the rubber thickness is just a little less than 1/8" or so. Works like a charm, still have PLENTY swing radius, and it bottoms out at the same point as reaching end stroke of the damper.

And man oh man, is the bike a different lady now. Absolutely dead stable, going with min setting in city, and max setting during high speed highway. Normal driving, 2-3 notches down from max.

Happy as ever!
