My 06 ULY with 39000 miles has starting shutting off when riding down the hwy.I cycle the key off & it restarts.Sometimes it does it a few times in my 5 mile ride to the boat & sometimes not at all.It sounds like the Bank angle sensor is failing.I'm looking to see if anyone else has had a similar problem.I see American Sportbike has them for around $50.Just looking for some input before I order.

Had the same issue at around 4K miles on my '06 some years ago. BAS was the problem. If you have ECMSpy, you may want to disable the BAS and see if the problem goes away before you order a new sensor.

This is a recall item. If you have access to a Buell servicing HD dealership, they will retro fit a new switch. The new switch goes in the storage compartment at the rear of the seat. I looked into this, but haven't had it done on my bike yet. As a recall, it would cost nothing.

It would cost me more to take the bike the 3 hrs to the dealership.I'll fix it myself. The last time they had my bike for Stator(warranty) I got it back 28 days later. That ain't happening anymore. Thanks for the help guys.

You have the correct symptoms. I had the recall done years ago.

When it happened to me I thought my Uly was trying to snuff me. I was wondering if I had offended it in some way. The first shut off I was two up, passing on a two lane where there was a short passing zone and cars were coming the other way in the distance. I had to quickly cut into a parking lot on the left when it quit.

The next time I was two up it died while I was in a left lane of a four lane Interstate at nearly eighty MPH in traffic. Concrete wall to the left, three lanes of fast traffic to the right. Luckily I knew then about cycling the key to restart it.

The time after that I was stopping to turn around on a four lane turn around cut out. It quit and I nearly tipped it over as it stopped when I thought I was going to go.

Been good since they replaced it and moved it to the back. It might be worth your efforts to move it behind the seat latch when you replace it.
