2007 Ulysses, rode this weekend and a couple times had red light on dash come on and bike loose power for just a second at cruising speed. This happened before but then the rpms and speedometer would drop. Loose battery connection on that one. This time no drop in either. Just temporary drop in power, red light comes on for approx. 10 seconds, then all is good. I would like to take care of before it gets worse.

You have to read the codes.
Knowledge vault should have instructions for reading the fault codes.

Out of curiosity I tried to find out how to read codes (I have 09 Uly) but didn't find a heading in the knowledge vault and when I searched "reading codes" got nothing but this thread..
can you point it out?

If it does not have any codes show up you have probably experienced 'skip spark'. In a situation where the engine begins to over heat, like on a hot day riding up hill, the engine goes into safe mode until it cools down. It does not show a code because it is a normal function of the ECM.

Hopefully for you it will be a one time deal.

I'll save the page.. I see it's older does the procedure apply to 2009 Uly?
and is it same if I have the race ECU?

just want to be prepared for anything..

by the way my Uly is the perfect bike right now.. I've been using it daily to commute only 10 miles each way but as long as I warm it up first, it runs like a dream.. I love it!
I have free parking plot (10'x6') Alley in the heart of downtown.

I'm thinking of painting some BWB graffiti on the wall there.

The procedure I posted works on ALL fuel injected Buells.
