Stator fried last month while I was riding through Louisiana. I got it home, dropped the primary cover and pulled the fried stator and ordered parts.

For reference the crank bolt is right hand threads on the 09'

I got to work on it this past Monday. Changed the front plug (I changed the rear a few months ago). Dropped and remounted the muffler for no reason. Changed the oil, filter, stator etc. tightened the primary tensioner. It runs loads quieter!

Fired it up, seems to idle ok, maybe a small miss at first, voltage is good. Put it all back together and went for a ride. It ran like crap. Sputtering at first, like it was running on 1 cylinder, then running through the midrange and top end almost like normal. It improved after a few minutes, but the bottom end is still crap. Stalling when I roll on the throttle unless I'm above 3krpm. Perhaps the exhaust valve actuator cable is not adjusted properly?

I don't think an improperly adjusted actuator cable would make it run that badly.

Make sure front plug wire is completely seated at the plug and coil, and that it has not rubbed through at some point so that it is grounding out on the frame. I'm betting it's something to do with that front plug change.
