I think the one mod I'm most interested in learning more about is this swap of the rear end with the 2010. What's that all about? Can someone post a link perhaps?

A 2010 wheel upgrades to three larger bearing from two inadequate bearings. The price is pretty good too. http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/17330

from that link,
Comes with a new axle, bearing spacer, seals, and 3 bearings

from the black 2010 wheel,
DOES NOT INCLUDE the new axle, bearing spacer, seals, and 3 bearings, they must be bought separately,

whats up w that?

Black has the axle separate as you need to buy the right one that matches your bike.

Updating this thread... I've been using the bike as a daily driver for a few weeks now and about 1,000 miles. The bike was having really bad detonation problems. I've since changed the tune around a little bit and gotten it much better. It really seems like it might work out OK. I took her out on a hot night with some of my friends that were on sport bikes and we rode to the next town over and she did great as well and averaged 52mpg.

I have decided that its still probably a better idea to have a water cooled bike as a daily driver so I've listed the Uly for sale but I'm going to try and keep her if I can. The bike is just such a good utility bike its hard to get rid of.

@Electraglider, Thanks! I'm going to have to test mine for a bit first and see how it does. Unfortunately my budget won't allow that swap just yet.

@Fotoguzzi, Sweet! Gold on blue is probably very nice. Kind of like a classic Subaru Racing color palette. That's a great pic.

@Dualsportdad, I'm glad to see you're hanging on to the Uly. I'm already attached to mine and I've barely tested it.

I think the main thing I really will get on changing is the headlamp setup. Mine are still original and I want the better night time illumination for sure.
