Screwed up. When I rotated the engine up I heard a snap and I broke off the rear PCV valve tube that the rubber tubing pushes onto. I had the thing in the way as the engine rotated up. Here's my question: Does that PCV valve have an automotive equivalent?

Not that i know of. Bottom of stem has a small sponge in it and top has a umbrella valve in it. Most automotive apps are checkball n spring. As you discovered, headroom is at a premium above rocker boxes. Go look thru boxes at auto part stores would be the only way i would know. Take forever but if you find one 'shallow' enough that would be great.
