good story.....I guess. It seems to me that an AX is the last thing on Eriks mind ATM...Looks like hes got his mind set on the racer crowd. Not any kinda mention of any other type of bikes.

but don't discount all the designers employed for the Hero stuff.. they have more than enough engineers to work on other projects.
and keeping it secret can be a good thing..
maybe that reporter just didn't ask the right questions..

It's marketing 101 - "sell what ya got". Talk about what IS, not what "will be" - because by the time the "will be" actually IS...it will have changed drastically along the way.

And the delineation between "cruisers" and "sportbikes" doesn't rule out an AX at all, nor does it specify only a "racer crowd". Or...do you want floorboards on the AX? I certainly don't call my Uly a "cruiser", even though I have multiple iron-butt days on that motorcycle...nor am I any sort of racer. But I'm also fully aware that the Ulysses isn't the ONLY product built by Buell...nor will the AX be the ONLY product built by EBR.

Relax.

It'll get built.

Let Erik focus on building a strong company and dealer network to support it (and the RX, and the SX), once it's on the road. His engineers can handle the rest.

Great article! I also enjoyed the occasional reference to "Har-ley" Davidson. Har har, nyuk nyuk.

I think that EBR will come out with the AX sooner than later. Erik knows the adventure market is ripe for exploitation and he surely hasn't forgotten how many ULY bikes were sold. Erik knows EBR can't be a one trick pony and expect to hold the buying publics' interest for any length of time. Surely he's got many irons in the fire, the AX being one of them.

Of all the motorcycles the Buell made, I always thought the ST3 was one of his most interesting motorcycles he ever made. A sport tourer that was do popular with the older riding group. Even though the Ulysses model was so popular, it still was a true sports touring motorcycle
I'm waiting to see what will his next long distance motorcycle will be like.

By the way, I've seen the new 1190RX and I like it but it's not my style of motorcycle riding. I sit on one and I don't think I would be able to ride it across town without wanting to get off and stretch. Then again I'm 60 and had the same feel when I demoed the 1125CR. I test rode that bike for about 7 miles with stopping one to stretch my legs
