My '06 Ulysses purchased pre-owned didn't come with a tool kit. My idea is to put one together and came up with this idea. I'll buy this set http://www.harborfreight.com/folding-star-bit ... from Harbor Freight and disassemble them to put everything I need into one set. My bike has T27 Torx obviously, but what other sizes of Torx are used on the Buell? How about the Allen heads? I guess I could just buy them, try every accessible fastener and go for it. I'll mark them somehow to identify what goes where. Next question, what size is the spark plug socket? Does anyone have a suggestion for an aftermarket one that works good for the Uly? |

The factory kit isn't much to speak of, but the one tool you will absolutely need is the nut adapter to get the rear axle off. It looks like two nuts attached to each other, one end goes in the axle, and you put a wrench or socket in the other end. If you can't find one since they are a Buell specific part, you can weld two nuts together. There are lots of t27torx bits, get one long enough to reach into the tight spots and another short one. |

I already purchased the axle tool from my local dealer. It was $30 but I needed it to replace my belt. It's not a Buell specific tool but as it's made by Motion Pro. |

I know you can turn around some spark plug sockets that have a hex on the back side and use that as an axle tool (saves space and $$'s) ... too late in your case I guess. Don't forget about the big allen head pinch bolt for the axles. I agree, it would be nice to make a complete list of tools for road repairs. I purchased a tool-roll just for that purpose, and before trips rather haphazardly put tools in there. |

I'm weird. I like buying tools. I'd rather buy the right one and have it. Too many years rigging things with my broke dad when I was a kid. |

7/8" coupling nut is the cheapest axle tool I found. See 90264A221 in McMaster. It's $1.85. |
