I'm going to do the XB9 primary swap soon on my '09 XT (yes, should have done it last month). I know the crank bolt is 13/16". My cheap socket set doesn't go that big. What size is the clutch hub nut? (so that I only have to go to the store once) |

after spending a couple hours looking through the Knowledge Vault, on the older bikes it was apparently 1-3/16". is it Still the same as far as anyone knows? |

I have the socket for an '06 Uly at home. I can check tonight. As for newer? I don't know if that is something they changed. |

Here's a good how-to by Tootal. Make sure you read all the way to the bottom because the torque spec changed on the crank nut. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/425775.html?1230619985 |

^ Torque change referenced in Tootal's how-to only applies to 06/07 Ulys. Your 09 uses a one-use bolt at the crank instead of a nut which was an improvement over the original design. Use a new bolt and follow the factory torque spec. |

Confirmed: the clutch hub / main shaft nut on the 08+ bikes need a 1-3/16" socket. |
