Not sure if Hepco-Becker makes just the inserts (or if they'd be worth the expense). . . My recommendation, from Al and JoAnne at American Sportbike: http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/17369

And I know that the Uly is kind of "ugly-cool" (to me anyway), and to each his own, but think my first order of business would be to removing that Gawd-AWFUL windscreen...

Best of luck.

Thanks i might turn to the paint if no other options come up.

I am attempting to trade everything out for barricade orange. I would prefer to not have the white at all. Wind screen is second only to getting a beak back on the front.

Ourdee it doesn't feel like it has been lowered. I am 6ft1 , and cant flat foot it. What makes you say it has been lowered?

I actually prefer the white over the orange, but that's just my personal opinion. Was the covers on the luggage painted white also?

I plan on painting mine black this summer because of all the scratches i'e put on mine from kicking them getting on and off my bike.

Yes they were painted white and not the best paint job. That is why I want to replace them.

Hepco-Becker does sell replacement covers. I could only find the cover for the top case on their US distributor's website, but it looks like it isn't very well organized (some parts are labelled in German). It's probably worth calling them.

I think he "bumper bar" can also be replaced, but i didn't see it in the catalog or on the website (but I don't read German).

cut/paste from H-B catalog:
Case cover for Journey case 700135 silver
Cover screen Journey TC 40 700145 silver

Moto Machines:
703 372 7241

Is it possible the original silvery paint is still under the white?

Thanks Argent I will give them a call.

Nate it may be but the small spots I tested on the underside didn't do well with paint stripper. I am not sure how else to get the paint off.

plastic media blasting would take the paint right off without harming the plastic...

You can remove paint from plastic with, of all things, brake fluid!! Cheap, 1.99 plain wrap DOT 3 brake fluid. Of course you will have to repaint to what ever color you want, as it will pull off the magnesium colored original paint I am sure.

brake fluid will eat right thru some plastics though...i would test in an inconspicuous area before trying brake fluid

I like the white ... I agree with you though, just a little too much there.

Should look much better when you switch the side cases and top case to the original silver or maybe black.

+1 on the ugly wind screen. Just purchased a new to me 06 and it has a tall Cee Baileys windscreen that I hate and want to replace. It also dumps un-Godly amounts of air directly up into my helmet. Any suggestions as to styles or brands that don't direct so much air onto you?

I found the parts at surdyke.com but opted to not spend the cash. The topcase cover is only 25 or so but the side case covers were 90 per.

The ugly screen works really well for wind protection...
I intend to go to factory tall screen, and am saving for palmer brackets.

Krimpx ... If you don't want that windscreen I'm sure someone will (not me).

You can probably sell it (and the old inserts from the cases), and change out for not too much money.
