Or is it? I am blasting around at 80 to 100 and the bike is TOTALLY stable. I can shift up without the clutch from 2nd and it is near seamless. I can feel no vibs and have very little wind blast to 90. The brakes are progressive and powerful enough for road work. The bike will hack through traffic like a hot knife through butter. The suspension and bike balance is a total joy. Engine fueling is perfect once hot. The saddle is like an arm chair. It makes BIG torque all over the rev range and it handles like NOTHING I have ever had. For the most part I am doing 20 mph MORE on the same BENDS I did on other bikes that cost at least 50% more to buy. Yep it is crap. |

Nothing like the first ride out in a while to remind you what you have in your stable. It can make you feel kind of dirty.....if you know what I mean! |

Not the first ride, just the first out of winter. I ride all year but the dark, wet and cold are not the best conditions for the way I LIKE TO RIDE even if the Uly does well at that. |

My usual MO also. Not so much the past couple of years. Maybe I am getting old or something. The warmer the better nowadays.....well up to 90F! |

Mine ran better than ever today. I replaced spark plugs a week or so ago and found the rear plug wire not installed correctly. The metal socket in the boot was shoved up too far and wasn't over the top of the plug. It's obviously been that way ever since I bought it. The extra length caused the wire to rub on the frame so I think there might have been some occasional grounding misfire action. I could feel it once in a while. |

It was harder to get the rear plug wire on correctly than it was to put the new plugs in. |

Took mine out today...85 miles from home and it started raining...Ten seconds later i dropped a cylinder...Stopped and let her dry for a minute and away she went again...for another ten seconds. Limped it to my dads house 20 miles that way ...checked it over and found both plug wires loose and corroded.Wire brushed them and packed them with dielectric grease. Zipped it back up and rode home in pouring rain and 38F...What a blast. Ran fantastic after that |

tizz so, and tonight it still does this rapid clicking between relays? no start.. battery seems good w/12.80 before I push start. re-set the connections at battery posts but no change.. will follow the ground wire in the morning. I don't use kill switch and if I did the clicking rather than turn over would still happen. the motor did crank over a few times before the clicking relays so suspect main ground cable? yes or no? or still need to load test battery? or try other one - don't know if it will fit.. Guzzi fired right up, might just ride it.. still in love with it tho! (Message edited by fotoguzzi on March 29, 2014) |

again...sounds like a bad battery. Even new batteries fail on occasion...i would get it load tested. That Motoguzzi sounds and looks like a sweet machine! |

My first ride was yesterday as well. Going to check out the new EBR, figured "if it starts...I'll ride". 30k+ miles, 06 Uly, OEM battery...fired right up. Hasn't even been in the same ROOM as a tender all winter! I was floored...but I rode. Cloudy when I left home...started sprinkling...by the time I got to the dealer (an hour from home) it was pouring. Bleah. She snorted a couple times until I fueled up with fresh 93 - sea foam keeps things from gunking up, but all that alcohol makes the throttle a little snarky at first. Halfway home, the VSS died. It's been intermittent for a couple months now, but I think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get a new one. Other than that, though...she did great. Nice not to have ice all over the damn roads for a change! |

I've seen a lot of Yuasa's test good for voltage but when they get a load they go flat. Internal fail! After three of those I don't buy Yuasa anymore. |
