Picked up my 06 ULY a few weeks ago...so far i have replaced the rear wheel bearings... Did the Hyper Pro lowering kit front and rear...and packed the "77" connector full of dielectric grease...and i did the both headlights on mod. I sat down today and ordered The Palmer Windscreen adjustable brackets....Axle sliders front and rear...Bikemaster heated grips ( 5 adjustments) And also ordered ADV Monster LED lights with wireless dimmer...Can't wait for it all to get here...I'm looking to mod this bike for comfort on long trips....what have the rest of you done with your bikes? I need some ideas for the next mods

Light in the top case red bezel? Only works if you have the top case first

I used a write up pub'd by Mikef5000 several years ago. Big light return on minimal investment for your blindside

If you have the 06 low gel seat the later one is not gel and a LOT more comfy once broken in.

Bar weight help with the bar vibs. Better mirrors like the Aprilia ones work very well and look better. And if you want to treat your self get a set of ASV levers. Expensive but worth the money.

I actually have two low seats and a tall seat. I'm not sure if the low seats are gel or not.One is in Barricade orange and the other Is all black. I think i'm going to keep the black one and try to sell the other 2. Bar ends are a great idea and are on my short list as are the levers. Are the Aprilia mirrors that much better? are they super expensive?

"Are the Aprilia mirrors that much better"? Yes they are but you can just get a clone set.

Turn the seat over and you will see the round vent hole with the slots in it. You can see the seat material under the slots. If it is blue it is gel, if it is a darkish yellow it is foam.

Thanks for the tip...I'll look when i go to the garage today. The Barricade orange low seat came with the bike and looks a little older...The black low seat I bought as i was on my way to buy the bike...not knowing one came with it. The Black one has a " newer " looking fabric...I cant wait to go see what i'e got now.

Does your bike have the "comfort kit", very worth while, and might not be available forever. I like the "BarkBuster" brand of hand guards, they provide some tip over protection for levers, master cylinder, throttle control, mirrors..., the "storm" option gives good wind protection (like the stock hand guards), and they do offer optional bar end weights.

Rocket engine. I want to see a rocket powered Uly.

With a comfort kit, of course.

If the throttle shaft mod hasn't been done I would strongly encourage it (or at least have one while on a trip if you are mechanically inclined).

Ray,
E-mail sent. Due to being stiffed on four shafts I will now ship after payment received. The shafts are still only $75.00 but I'm afraid we have some folks among us who are thieves. I find it a damn shame we can't trust each other. All I can say is Karma's a bitch!

Here's an assembly thread. You will have to remove the throttle body. The screws holding it on can be a pain to get to. I've had mine out several times before I got a set of intake seals to seal so it's doable. Once out just disassemble, clean and do this:

I can't believe you got shafted (see what I did there) on four shafts. I am very surprised given how the Buell group seems to be a little more tightly knit than most. What a shame. And for a $75 part?!

I'll check my records, might have been four guys and five shafts. Two went to a Brazilian dealer and I really didn't expect a dealer would do that. A friend of mine went to Brazil to help build a rope bridge through the rain forest. He made some good friends down there. One of them came to the states so I gave my buddy my Harley so his friend would have something to ride. I might contact him and see if he'd like to return the favor!!

I ran my own chrome shop for ten years....the average customer paid almost always...it was the dealers...and my employees....and my friends that screwed me
