Has anyone tried plasti dip http://plastidip.com/home_solutions/Plasti_Dip Was thinking of doing wheels on the xb Not too sure about balance issues and wear What other options might work on wheels I have seen powder coating but might be costly | ||

It's been done on the bodywork, looked pretty nice in pictures from 10 feet away. I expect a tire change would shred it... heck, it shreds the powder coat. | ||

I wouldn't do it. I don't think it will hold up at all and look bad very quickly. I'd go with powder coating. I find that it reasonably priced. | ||

I know a guy that Plasti Dipped the wheels on his truck and wife's car. The Plasti Dip had seven months of use when I last saw him at a Christmas party, and the wheels still looked perfect. He says you can't skimp on the prep. The only thing you have to lose is time and and a few bucks. You can always peel it off if you don't like the result. I imagine you'll be doing it every tire change, though. |
