I have a 2008 XB12XT, I have recently got hold of a Race ECM and already have a Remus exhaust fitted. I believe my header pipes are a narrower European spec (I'm in Ireland) and more restrictive than those that come on the US sold bikes.

What header pipes will fit the 2008+ XB12XT? I'm hoping to source a set of 2nd hand ones in the US which are of larger bore than mine.

Thanks

Emmet- I believe the headers are interchangeable on all US-spec XB12's. The only exception is that the 2010 models have an extra bung for an O2 sensor in the front header pipe.

I have an 07 XB12X, and I was able to re-use my original 07 headers when I installed an 09 XB12 engine. They fit perfectly.

It depends on what you are trying to do?

If it is power you are after I did not notice any more, on the road, from a 06 bike US header spec to 10 bike EU header spec. The Remus can works great on these bikes but it needs the Powerizer on the 06 bike to make the low and mid range better. You can get one for a 08 bike but do not know if you need it as the 08 bikes use DDFI-3 which is much better than DDFI-2. A Buell race ECM is matched for the Buell race can and not for a Remus can so who knows how well it will work.

If you want more "grunt" off the line you may want to try fitting the original round throttle body cam from a 06 bike. The only problem with this is that it is hard to keep the front end down.

If it is engine running issues that is something wrong with the bike and will need fixing first as these bikes DO RUN RIGHT if all is working as it should.

If it was me I would think more along the lines of adding the second O2 sensor to your bike if it can be done. Of course there is no harm experimenting with a set of US headers if you want to see what happens and can be bothered to rotate the engine to do this. Good luck.

More grunt is what I'm after, have the powerizer fitted and I don't have any running issues at the minute.
