I bought an 06 Ulysses last week, after putting about 150 miles on it, here are my thoughts:

fan noise - Yes it has a noisy fan. So did my Yamaha FJR, Kawasaki GPZ1100 and Concours.

build quality - It feels like I might be on a BMW or a Japanese bike, everything is more refined that the S3 that I own

Power - feels like a broader torque curve than the S3, and a little smoother

Suspension - plush

Wind Protection - What wind protection? I put on the zero gravity sport tour screen, but it is still minimal. Probably OK for a lower speed ride on a warm day.

Height - I am 5'11" and on this XB12X I could only tip toe to the ground. I ordered and Installed the factory low seat and now I can almost flat foot it

Seating position - I feel like I sit 'in' the S3 but sit 'on' the Uly.

Engine heat - a heck of a lot cooler than the S3, which will actually burn my right thigh on a hot summer day. But so did my FJR.

All in all, I think the ULY is way more refined and more multi focused than the S3.

Yea, the Ulysses is hard to beat in the "bang for the buck" category.
Best overall street bike I've ever owned.

If you ever find yourself at the Rock Store or Newcomb's Ranch, the other Ulysses, will probably be mine...

Welcome to the Uly world Terry.
I've had mine over 5 years and still enjoy every ride.

I once sold my Uly, only to buy another 6 months later. They're great bikes.

Congrats on your new addition, Terry!

"Seating position - I feel like I sit 'in' the S3 but sit 'on' the Uly."

Seating position is one of the things I really like about our Ulys. Maybe its because I grew up riding dirt bikes but I'm not a big fan of any bike I feel I'm sitting in.

Fotoguzzi-Nice video, thanks for posting. Our railfanning son gave it two thumbs up. That's one of our favorite MN rides right there.
