I have a factory stock ecm for a 2009 XB12R and I am intending to install it in my stock 2008 XB12XT Uly. Are all of the 2008 and 2009 XB12 ecm's programmed the same with the same plug/connection configurations making them directly interchangeable? In other words...can I do this? Si'?   Froggy Posted on Saturday, October 26, 2013 - 06:55 pm:        Close. Technically none of them are user programmable, but they all can be altered with 3rd party software. All 04-07 XB12 bikes use the same fuel injection so the ECMs are cross compatible. There were some changes to the bikes over the years so there are some minor fueling tweaks, but they basically were all the same. 05-07 XB9 ECMs will work too, but require a bit more tweaking to work right. 08+ bikes use a different fuel injection system, same deal as the older bikes with each year having some minor tweaks but they all will work. The 2010 bikes added a second O2 sensor, it is just one more thing to turn on/off if using on a different bike.
