I just need to be 100% positive on this before I do the install. I have a factory stock ecm for a 2009 XB12R and I am intending to install it in my stock 2008 XB12XT Uly. Are all of the 2008 and 2009 XB12 ecm's programmed the same with the same plug/connection configurations making them directly interchangeable? In other words...can I do this? Thanks!

Yes, all 2008/2009 XB12 ECMs are compatible.

Since the thread is about ECM compatibility, does an 07 XB12STT ECM work on 06 XB12X ? Nevertheless, sorry for the hijack !

Thanks..

Yes, any 04-07 XB12 ecm will work on a 06 or 07 Ulysses

My '06 Ulysses ECM has the '07 flash (Eprom) because I installed the freer flowing '07 airbox.

So...if I am getting this all correctly...03-07 is one unique version of ecm which is user programmable while the 08 & 09 ecm's are not, and 10 is yet another version due to its two Oxy sensors. Si'?

Close. Technically none of them are user programmable, but they all can be altered with 3rd party software. All 04-07 XB12 bikes use the same fuel injection so the ECMs are cross compatible. There were some changes to the bikes over the years so there are some minor fueling tweaks, but they basically were all the same. 05-07 XB9 ECMs will work too, but require a bit more tweaking to work right.

08+ bikes use a different fuel injection system, same deal as the older bikes with each year having some minor tweaks but they all will work. The 2010 bikes added a second O2 sensor, it is just one more thing to turn on/off if using on a different bike.
