With 2000 miles on the new type AKF belt it has now become more flexible and more like the AKE belt was from new. I can see almost no wear on the teeth and it tracks perfectly.

I am not saying it will last any longer but if it does I will be the first to know if it is worth the extra cost over the AKE belt.

I replaced an AKC (?- I think that's what it was; purchased in 2008) belt with an AKF about a month ago. It's loosening up very slowly but it was amazingly tight at first. It got very hot on the first couple of ~30 mile interstate rides too.

My 06 bike came with a AKD belt which was replaced with a AKE belt. That broke and was then replaced with a AKF belt but the bike was then stolen so I have no idea if it was any good. The 10 bike came with a AKE belt and now has the AKF belt.

It is said that the new AKF belt is based on the build used for the "R/CR" series bikes because of there extra power but who knows if they will be any better on the Uly.

Are these the OE belts or aftermarket ones, please?

I got 19,000km out of my last belt -- an AKF. I attribute its short-ish life to occasional hooliganism and several fairly laden trips.

Currently have a new Goodyear Falcon belt on the bike.

Turf_moor- the AK_ designations all refer to the OEM Goodyear belts. The last letter indicates the belt series; Goodyear has updated the belt regularly since the Uly came out to improve the reliability.

Thanks, Hughlysses. My first one on an 06 went at 11,900 miles. The current one has only done 7,200 so should have a fair bit left on it. That's when I get round to using the Uly again. I need to get it on Portuguese plates soon.
