Hey all, been waiting for a reply from Court but obviously busy. Any other suggestions? I have a Buell Rally coming up in about 5wks, and need a new latch. Its actually the riveted part of the latch that snapped, brittle thin metal bar (i was gentle with it), so the actual locking mechanism is fine, just need the bit it attaches to that is riveted to the box. Don't want to sacrifice one from the side case, just to make the topbox work, but the topbox does have my rear brake light along with the Police lights turned into break lights...2009/2010 XP Please help! |

Can't you get that stuff directly from Hepco? |

Can't you get that stuff directly from Hepco? As I am overseas, its a bit more difficult. Court used to sort people out directly from here. If I was in the states, I'd simply call H&B or Buell Customer Service and try. Would be great if someone would be able to help out as NZ is a bit far to be ringing and we also come from the future (day ahead).} |

Court's been posting fairly regularly the last few days, so he is around. (Most of his posts are in "ninja" mode; he posts something and then immediately deletes it.) You might try posting in one of the threads in the EBR sub-forum; he's been active there. |

This one? http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/17367.html Al will ship overseas with a $50 minimum order I think... buy two, or figure out something else on the site you want (shouldn't be hard). |

Thanks for the quick replies Reepi, Hugh, and Natex. Unfortunately its NOT that latch otherwise I would have ordered already from American Sport Bike. Its the other one on the all black cases (outlander I believe) but still H&B. I could try the EBR forum, but I sent him 2 PMs over the last 2months and not reply...so figure he cant help anymore or too busy for such a small thing...but its not so small to me! Any other suggestions? |

Well, when I needed parts Al didn't have, I went here: http://www.capitalcycle.com/ They eventually got them, but they screwed it up in about as many ways as it was possible to screw them up, all the way down to putting the Hepco sticker on upside down before sending me the part I needed. I also had to follow up on a backorder on my own and nag them to send the parts. I'd think since you are already outside the US, you would have a better chance of finding something in Germany and getting that shipped. |

found this on ADVRIDER.com not sure if it helps Check out the Hepco Becker website as I believe they are the same as the new model Juniors. I plan on using the Junior Topcase on my Ulysses that previously was on my wee strom. Looks identical to the one shown on the Buell site. this is me now... I downloaded the catalogue for H&B http://neu.hepco-becker.de/Downloads/Englisch_2013 .pdf and on page 90ish there is Junior latch parts I think |

Bugger. Here's the LOCKS page for H&B with images...and its none of these things! I actually have a perfectly good lock, but I need the bit on the CASE that it attaches to i believe. NOT A SPARE PART? I'd be raging if it was part of the entire case, which i know its not since I can see 2 rivets attaching it! http://www.hepco-and-becker-luggage.co.uk/products .php?prodtypes=20 |

Thanks for the link to the Junior. That looks right actually, same as the Outdoorsman (not sure why the name change tho?) The H&B catalogue didn't have images but I googled it and found it. Here is a pic hopefully so you can see what I've actually broken!

Froggy, I saw that too and initially thought YES, but if you look at it, that is only the lock which I have still and complete. What I need is the cases bottom side bit that the lock ATTACHES to. Its not included in that lock kit, nor on that page for H&B |

Actually Froggy, not that I look at it for THIRD time, perhaps it is that bit under the 2 lock pieces! So I have to buy the whole thing, but i guess i get a spare lock and key. Might be the solution right there...I'll just confirm with H&B You guys are all fecking awesome by the way, thanks for such interest on such a tiny wee thing! I will offer a current pic as thanks. Notice the new HPC coated Micron...tasty

It should have everything you need. http://st-riders.net/index.php?topic=2855.0 I looked around online searching the part number on the picture and on that luggage site, I couldn't find anyone in your hemisphere that sells them |

Micron XB12 exhaust? You have the holy grail. |

Froggy, thanks for that link, its informative considering the original latches were not even H&B. You can also see the same bit that I am needing. I think I will order the junior lid lock kit, as I think the back plate is already included in there (plus I'll have a spare lock and latch). Reepi, you are correct, a beautiful set of xb12 Micron Serpent Exhaust (cost me 300USD all up, no cracks in mint condition!). It is a super rare combo and the XP is complete (ive removed some bits for safe keeping like siren, SPECIAL DUTY airbox etc). Even have both 2010 wheels so its a 2009/10 XP. But I think the holy grail will change when the AX limited editions eventually come out. This holy grail, however, only cost me around 6grand b4 shipping, and that one will be 4times that amount! I would NOT run the top box without the side mounting brackets. I did and the vibrations broke the metal frame that runs under the seat. The side bag mounts brace every thing so that wont happen. |

>>>I would NOT run the top box without the side mounting brackets. Buell issued a number of warnings about this. Must not be done. |

Court! Thanks for posting, and also Shagg. I always wondered why that was mentioned, as I found you could EASILY mount the topbox alone. I thought it was a mounting issue. I don't usually ride with any boxes, and if its a long tour I'd tend to use the side cases and NO topbox. So good to know about vibrations etc. As for the luggage latch, Court i finally got a reply from you, but I have just ordered a Junior lock kit from H&B. I think its identical and the piece that the lock and latch attaches to (riveted to the topbox lower half) is included in that. Should do the trick hopefully, and hope it gets here b4 the tour |
