Just a note for people looking into adding driving lights. I purchased LED driving lights from this, rather amateur-looking website, am quite happy with my decision: http://www.plashlights.com/Driving---Work-Lights.h tml Although some of the other ones also looked appealing, I bought the second one down after getting advice from the owner via the telephone (2" 16W Pair + Wiring Harness), which are $110 for the pair, it includes a rather cheap wiring harness with a lighted switch you can mount on the handlebars that I chose not to use. I have had them on my bike for about 6 months now wired to my low-beams. They seem bullet-proof and I am really happy. Being a person who likes bang-for-the-buck (that's why I bought my ULY), I feel like I got a good deal and wanted to let you all know it. Mounting them was easy for me. I already had my front turn signals integrated into aftermarket handlebar mirrors. I was able to mount them in the holes were my old signals went using just the hardware that came with the lights and no modification. Additionally, I believe bright running lights increase daytime safety. I always run these in the daytime and feel that it increases my visibility to other drivers, especially when I am approaching intersections. |

Professor, Did you like Ginger better than Mary Ann when you were stuck on that island back in the 60's? |

Are they focused tight? Are they as bright as a 55W halogen? I have been watching the quality go up and the prices come down for a while now. |

They are not super focused, I would say short to mid distance. Not sure about the power as compared to a 55W halogen. When I first installed them I got quite a few people flashing their brights at me, and had to point them down a little. I agree, LED $$$'s are going down and quality up. I am sourcing a pair of a new type led bulbs from China that have built in reflectors and a tiny cooling fan right now for less than $20. Scroll down on this link: http://www.cn360led.com/product/led-headlight-CL1. php The reflective material in my Uly headlights has degraded ... thinking they might work as a replacement, maybe even a upgrade. |

David- I'll be very interested to hear how those work out. I have the same issue with my Uly headlight housing, especially above the low beam. |
