I am going back to Shinko Raven 009 tires after trying Bridgestone Battle Ax and Conti Motion Sport Touring tires. Why? The Shinko Raven 009 tires provide, me, with acceptable performance at a good price ($185 delivered-set), and wear like iron. Rolled just under 10k on the first set. The first set I used was about 7 years ago. I'm hoping the compound has not gotten softer over the years... |

I ran two sets of the Raven tires and they both caused my Uly to turn into a wonder bike, it just wondered around on the road it felt very spooky to me. Went to the Michelin Road Pilot 3 and back to a stable bike. Post your experience please. |

I have ran two sets of Ravens and have been happy with them. Great wearing tires for the price. And the ride, while not fantastic is fine. Currently running a Conti Motion rear, and will put on a Conti front when the Raven front finally wears out. |

Just put a pair of shinko 009 on my uly. Bout 800 miles on them so will see what happens long term. So far, it rides pretty fair. |

Whisper, With no other changes to the bike, the Conti Motion on the rear of my Uly is shot at 3100 miles. Almost 2K miles less than any other tire I have used. The front still has some miles left. You can have the front take off if you want to pick it up. I have a new set of Shinko Ravens; to be installed this week. (Message edited by teeps on August 19, 2013) |

I ran the Shinko Ravens before the PR3's I have on now. I liked them new, but they felt terrible at about mid-life. Probably because the back tire squared up due to the curveless area I live. Happy I spent the extra $$'s on my PR3's. |

Thanks Teeps, but I'll have to pass. Although riding 2000+ miles to pick up a spare tire would make one hell of a story. |

Running PR3s and love them. I haven't taken them off piste yet but a guy I trust with a Uly sez the grip on gravel is as good as the Scorpion Syncs.... |
