I have searched and found that the XT shock lowers the rear end 1", but can someone who is vertically challenged and has done the mod tell me what the seat height actually measures, with an XT shock and low seat?
Thanks

The seats are the same from X to XT, so your seat height should be that of a stock XT, give or take a fraction of an inch since you aren't (it doesn't sound like) changing the forks.

And if you don't change the forks, I daresay it's going to handle like crap...

What I'm actually looking for is the seat height in inches, e.g. 30.7" or 31.0". Just gathering data at this point. If I were to change the shock the forks would be adjusted accordingly.

Just bought a 2007 Uly's, had it two week and enjoying it. It is a X but the previous owner changed the spring to a XT. It was a little tuff checking by myself. But it was around 33 5/8-3/4. Haven't messed with preload or front shocks but this is it free standing.
I'll check again when I can to confirm this measurement.
camra was a little tilted.

The problem with a height measurement is that it does not factor in the width of the seating area. You can loose a couple of inches of height by having to open up the ol' hips a bit.
