Went for a nice long ride today and noticed my right foot peg was slippery. Got home and found this.

From the manual it looks like I should be able to replace the seal, but not sure how the hell to get it out of there. I assume I need some kind of seal puller. Can anyone recommend one that will work in this situation.

Well, until some more ideas come in, I've had luck with this type of seal by drilling a hole or two in the seal. Screw in a sheet metal screw with a large enough head, and use a small lady slipper on the screw to pull the seal out. Like I said, sometimes need to attack it from more than one point. Good luck.

I used a little screwdriver and a pick to get the seal out. Just be careful and take your time. The trick is placing the new one in with out messing it up. Again take your time seating it as even as you can. Buy two seals just in case. Keep it in your box you will use it again.

The seal pops out real easy, almost any kind of tool fits in there and you just pry it out.

The new one goes in and is driven flush with a socket of the appropriate size.

The seal was about $7 last I looked.

Huh. I would have assumed you have to pull the cam cover. Nice to have an easier option, given you have to pull a rockerbox to pull the cams.
