I have a Ulysses xt. and I was wandering if the Hepco Becker junior 40 liter bags would fit on my current mounting brackets. With out having to modifiy my existing brackets.

I have the Journey's on mine. The Police models came with the Junior bags. The side brackets are different between the 2 in that the latch is on the front of the rack for the Journey bags, and at the rear for the Junior bags. I met another BadWebb rider that had them and tried them on my racks. They will work, if you are OK with them mounted "backwards".. i.e. Right on Left side and vice-verse. The other issue you will have is that the rear turn signals will be pushed back slightly by the Junior bags. This can be fixed by ordering the turn signal bracket for the police Uly that goes on the tag bracket between that and the tag and puts them a little lower and farther back on the bike, on either side of the license plate.

So the answer is... "yes, kinda"...

That's almost correct...

1. the latches are in the rear on the Juniors.
2. The Junior brackets move the whole bag back 2" on the bike, so the bag doesn't hit the passenger footpegs.
3. the factory Junior kit ("outdoorsman" in Buell terms) included rearward-position brackets as well as turn signal relocator plate and new rear signals with longer wires.

You "can" put Junior bags on Journey racks...if your passenger doesn't have feet and you don't mind having them on backwards and pushing on your turn signals.

Are there any other bags out there that would work with out having to replace or modifying the existing brackets.

The Journey's are the 'oddball' HB bag. Any other HB bag, if I remember correctly, will contact the passenger pegs and sit too far forward.

People have used many other brands' bags with success, though. And there are a lot of adaptor plates that fit other brands to HB racks.

Out of curiosity, why are you switching? I love my Journeys - tons of space, each bag can fit a fullface helmet when parked (I upsized my topcase to a 52L and it can now hold TWO helmets)...

I went down on the bike about two weeks ago because some lady had run a stop light as I was making a left hand turn. Now I'm trying to locate a bunch of parts for the left side of my bike. the bag now has road rash on it. I just thought I might look for something different.
