I wonder if this would help with some of the electrical problems I read about on this forum. I noticed the Buell connectors are not weatherproof like automotive connectors. Having used Stabilant 22 for about 15 years I know it works. I recently had a older car that would go into limp mode. I put some of this on every sensor connector for the transmission. The problem was fixed. I think the various speed sensor connections were randomly dropping out so eventually the transmission would go into limp mode. What I've started doing is putting some Stabilant 22 on every electrical connector I have apart.

PS I just bought a 2010 XB12X in Los Angeles California. My two sons and I drove our Firebird down and I and rode the bike back home to North Dakota.

I hope you chose some nice roads for the trip back home.

I always put a small amount of this dielectric grease on any electrical connector I have apart. I use it on my bike and other vehicles. I do not pull any connectors apart just to do this but if I am in there already, I figure it won't hurt anything.

This is what makes Stabilant 22 different from die-electric grease;

"Stabilant 22 is an initially non-conductive block polymer that when used in a thin film within contacts switches to a conductive state under the effect of the electrical field. The field gradient at which this occurs is set such that the material will remain non-conductive between adjacent contacts in a multiple pin connector environment.

Thus, when applied to electromechanical contacts, Stabilant 22 provides the connection reliability of a soldered joint without bonding the contacting surfaces together!

Contacts are generally the weakest link in any piece of electrical-electronic equipment whether it be an electronic ignition module, an automotive computer, power door locks, or even headlights. The use of Stabilant 22 or its isopropanol-diluted form Stabilant 22A, will make contacts from 10 to 100 times more reliable, eliminating costly callbacks and ensuring customer satisfaction."

Day 1: Buena Park Los Angeles to Grand Canyon Village.
Day 2: Grand Canyon Village to Grand Junction CO.
Day 3 Grand Junction CO to Gillette WY (north at Rifle CO).
Day 4 Gillette WY to home.

Rode through rain every day except the last one. And the weather was cold. It was great to be home!

I use electrical grease on every connection not dielectric.
It also helps the connector slide together better and not deform the seal.
Congrats on the new bike.

That really does look like some good stuff, superior to dielectric grease. Where do you buy it and what does it cost? Thank you.

Reviews there give some idea how well it works. Originally I bought the 50ml pre-diluted, it lasted a long time. Since I had the original bottle I bought the concentrate and diluted it myself. The concentrate needs to be diluted with Isopropyl Alcohol 4:1
