Hi all,

I'd like to adjust the throttle play.
By that I mean when my throttle is closed (it really loose) I can turn it nearly a quarter turn before it actually engages anything.

There are two cables. One is throttle up and one is the return.

Both are adjusted at the throttle twist grip. Pull back the rubber boots. Loose off the nuts, adjust the "long" part to how you like it and "lock" it in place with the nut.

This can be tricky to get right so take your time doing it and you may need a few tries to get it right.

don't over tighten as if you turn the handle bar they may pull a bit.

Be careful with the adjust. There must be enough play for let the throttle plate closed during the TPS reset.

On a push/pull throttle arrangement always adjust the pull cable so you can hear the cable cam hit wide open. Back it off slowly until you don't hear it hitting and stop. Lock it down. Now adjust the push cable until you have a little free play in the throttle. I like about a 1/16" to an 1/8" of wiggle. It might be a good idea to loosen the push cable first so you don't bind while adjusting the pull cable.

Adjusted the cables. I think i did it right?

What a difference! can't believe I put up with all that jiggle for so long.

As you can see I'm a rider first, and a mechanic second.... or maybe out of necessity.
