Those really do transform the looks of the bike... Not as expensive as I was afraid they would be either. I'll be interested to hear how well they last. It tempts me to get a second set of rims and be able to swap back and forth. | ||

 I was lucky on the prices as the front was sold by a private dealer on ebay, and the rear was a sale on ebay, $20 off any tires over $150. The cheapest I have found them is from Chaparral motorsport but its from their ebay shop. Front is normally $116 and rear is $165. | ||

Advoutlander, I have to admit I do like the looks of the knobbies on your bike. I would prefer red plastics but otherwise it looks awesome! I am just wondering if you really take that thing off road much? I'm a good sized midwest farm boy and I cannot imagine trying to muscle around a heavy bike like that in the dirt. It just seems like you would be better off buying something like a Honda XR650L or Kawasaki KLR 650 so you could ride the roads to the mudhole and then back home again. My Buell is an XT and I never ride it on anything but paved roads. The few times I have ridden through gravel parking lots etc., I thought the bike got real squirrely. Don't get me wrong, I love dirt bikes but just not sure if I would ride the XB12X off road much. Thanks! | ||

Thanks for the comments. I still have not rode on the tires as I need to figure out how to adjust the primary. The tech spec gripsters are nice, they give the frame some protection which is the main reason why I got them. Again I've not had the chance to test them as the bike is out of action. Motorbike I prefer the black plastics over my blue ones and if there is anyone on here that wants to swap let me know. I will be taking it off road more often. In Colorado there are loads of mountain passes that are suitable for big adventure bikes. I just needed more grip than the michelin road 2's that were on it. I previously had a suzuki dr200 which was a great dual sport bike, once I finish modding my buell I'm going to buy another dr200 for more serious off road use. Motorbike, I ride my XB12X offroad ALL the time. I competed in the GS challenge last year, and will do so again this year, with my Uly. I would recommend a few tweaks to the bike if you want to get into some offroad riding. Here are the most important in my mind: -Get some new pegs with sharp claws so you dont slip when standing on the pegs. -Get a skidplate, -Slap on some TKC80s! -adjust your clutch and front brake so as to be able to use them standing up. With these easy mods you can do pretty much do anything a GS1200 or KTM990 can do.  | ||
