This morning has been the first time I have been able to give the bike a good "work out". The past six months have been nothing but cold, rain, fog, traffic and darkness. Having to wear eye glasses now is also a pain in the dark and wet weather.

Its still cold but little traffic and the roads are still a bit damp in places so had to watch the tyres for the road conditions. The roads are full of holes now so its good the Uly can deal with them so well. You can, and I do, hit some VERY big ones but the Uly never has a problem and you do not feel like you may be "launched into the middle next week" on hitting one.

So I am out there raging the thing like a sports bike and at speeds I am not able to mention. No wind blast (I am 2m tall), or cold and the bike never missed a beat. Gear up-change, 2 through to 5, without clutch is seamless and smooth at the right revs/load. No vibration, tyres good even though cold and a nice sound from the Stealth can. Deep tone but not over loud.

Huge torque right through the rev range and it still pulls hard in fifth gear. I have had it to 120 in the past and it was STILL going strong nor was it a problem to hang on to the bike. Something I have found to be a problem with other bikes.

Many a time I have thought on why this is such a good bike. Plenty of good ones out there and I have had many of them. A lot of bikes can do some things well but not all things well. Some can do all things well its just that the Uly can do all things VERY well. It also seems, as far as I can tell, to have no vices with its suspension, frame or steering. I am not even sure it has all that many as regards the other parts of the bike either. On the 10 bikes anyway.

Some bikes need to be "worked" and if your not in the mood, tired, etc they can be a pain to deal with. The Uly is sort of the other way around. It "puts" you in the mood to ride and that, if nothing else, is worth every cent of its price.

Probably more fun to ride because it has the Harley engine/transmission. There is a lot less fuss with hydraulic valves and a transmission you can easily service.

Very easy maintenance is the bottom line with these bikes. And now back to watching the snow fly around here...I haven't ridden since November...getting cranky!
