Its redundant and unnecessary to encourage anyone to read the monthly Egan/Cameron columns in Cycle World (most months anyway) but for anyone who has owned, worked on or just stood and pondered the engineering that goes in to different 'nationalities' of machinery, this month's Kevin Cameron column will make perfect sense.

I wish I could find a link to the column to post here. I think I have a scanned PDF of the article but I'm not clear on the rules for posting that which belongs to another so I will err on the side of caution.

Find a copy and read it, if you get the chance.

A million miles - all the dyno time - drop dead gorgeous looks - huge power and torque - all adds up to something good.

Hope they come up with the rest of the bike soon - just like Buell, the waiting is getting a bit tedious.

Hopefully there will be an Indian Scout and a EBR AX to ponder soon.

Harley did a million miles on the Twin Cam engine back when it was introduced. They still ended up having a cam bearing failure problem the first couple of years. A million miles is only a good start but only means they have given it a good effort and no guarantee of a problem free engine. I really like the looks of that engine though.

wasn't so enthralled with the Indian engine although it deserves the press its getting but the Kevin Cameron column was worth the ink and paper its printed on.

If you get the chance to read the Cameron column, do so.

Let me leave you with the notion that if you get near the issue this month, while the Indian article is good, the Kevin Cameron column is better.

Man that Kevin Cameron column was insightful this month.

Is there any notion that Erik Buell will possibly be tapping into this Indian motor for a new line of Buells? That could be really interesting, but in my opinion he should stick with liquid cooled motors this time.
