I thought I would share some info from my 30k service on my 2008 XB12XT. Maybe help some others along the way.

I needed to rotate the engine because my starter was on the way out. Picked up one on eBay instead of a factory unit. For $139 I am well pleased. Definitely spins the engine faster with no compression stall.

While the motor was down I pulled the throttle body to do intake seals and clean the IAC. Found neither was necessary. Seals were good and IAC was clean. Throttle plate was dirty around the edges, cleaned that and the insides. PCV seals were leaking so they got replaced. Valve cover gaskets are still good after being replaced at 10k. New style seem to be holding up well.

Spooned on some Pilot Road 3's, replacing Roadsmarts that only lasted 9k. I didn't like them anyway. Front wheel bearings are good after 12k and my 3 bearing rear is good after 9k.

Last but not least I sandblasted and painted my muffler. I painted it at my 20k with H-D muffler paint that lasted ok. The hot spots were beginning to rust. This time VHT primer and flat black with curing per VHT. Time will tell.

Now I am ready to head to Texas for MotoGP! Can't wait.

Now that is VERY cool. Why? Because BPT fixed the "you will always get" things on a used bike in a CLEAR, timely and correct manner on his service work. Nice work Guy. Thank you for the input.

When I switched from black BBQ paint to ceramic engine paint, it seemed to last longer. For what that's worth.

Also on a side note. After 400 miles the PR3 tires are great. Excellent feel and confident in rain today.
