Since winter is dragging on here in WI decided to start on some tuning. Just did some other maintenance so reset TPS and loaded standard race map as a starting point. Ran like crap. Reloaded stock map ran OK but started hanging at 2k returning to idle. Crap! Ordered new seals and started tear down. Noticed this nipple on right side of TB right above the fuel rail? Is there supposed to be a line or something to it? I recently bought this one (my 2nd 06 Uly) and I am positive that there was nothing here when I took the base and velocity stack off.

Thanks
Ken

That's for the California bikes and is above the butterfly so it's not a vacuum leak. There was a cap on it and it's blown off. Your just sucking unfiltered air into the bike but not causing any other problem. As far as your hanging idle, that can be caused by a slight high idle. 1050 is as high as you can go otherwise the idle will hang. Just lower it to 1000 and it should stop.

EVAP NIPPLE CAP PLUG, part number 27584-02.
It's a black rubber cap.

Had the idle set around 950 and it was still hanging with stock and race map. Idle was definitely worse with the race map.

That the ported vacuum fitting used with CA evaporative emissions system to purge the hydrocarbons stored in the charcoal canister.

Cap it; don't cap it. The passage will eventually self seal with dirt...

Might as well install a heavy duty throttle butterfly shaft while you have it off!

Sorry, just couldn't help myself...
