When using ECM Spy and owners refer to a "race ECM", are there several MFG's and some not compatible with the ECMSpy? Question being, my 06 has what I assume to be a EB ECM. The O/E box says 32620-03Y and the ECM says race use only. As posted Im having some prob's doing a TPS reset and am curious if my ECMSpy version V.1.7.8 software will work. Sorry for the 20 questions on this issue.

Should work fine. Sounds like an accessory ECM and it should take ecmspy just fine. Mine always did.

Have you tried your computer/cable setup on a different bike to verify that it works?

No I have not, the PO never trued either in the 5K miles he logged but the Orig owner was apparently pretty anal about farkles, tweeks and maint. I'll run her today before the rain hits and see how it does.
Thank You

Well ECM-SPY V1.7 is for BUEZD XB and 1125 08 plus bikes which is DDFI-3. The 05-07 bikes are ECM-SPY V 1.5 BUEIB and use DDFI-2. The 05-07 race ECM is B2RIB. If its the HD one it was made (prog) to match there race (alloy) can and not the Drummer.

Now a DDFI-3 ECM will not fit your bike so you must have the DDFI-2 which as far as I can make out is the only one that works on all the 05-07 XB bikes. The model variation would be just the prog for the bike type ie Uly but the hardware (ECM) is the same.

From what you have said you had, at one point, a TPS reading and then you "zeroed" it. That means that you have
"re-flashed/burned" the ECM with that new data. Doing this with the wrong ECM-SPY version may be the reason your TPS numbers are not there anymore.

So what to do? You will need the original map to flash back to the ECM so I hope you saved it and it was not a problem doing it with V1.7. Next you will need the right version of ECM-SPY to flash it to the ECM. This was free but now you have to pay. Its only a charity donation or someone may be able to help. If you need a new OEM map someone may be able to help as well. I may have my old 06 bikes map but its not the race one.

I you will be able to find the firmware version (I think its BUEID or whatever) of your ECM in ECM-SPY. Do not EVER assume anything with this sort of thing. It is possible to do a lot of damage to the bike if you are not 100% sure of what you are doing. Anyway I am sure it can be fixed one way or another. Good luck.

Shite....This gets confusing sorting this programming stuff out. I do have the stock ECM as a back up still. Yesterday after the possible TPS reset I logged a 50 mile test and it runs great and seems to be idling and running thru the rpm range smoother. No backfires on decell just smooth front end lifting torque : ) Best leave well enough alone and enjoy it.

Sounds good to me. Enjoy.
