Has anyone experienced this? Fuses are good. Battery is good.

The bike needs to be running and I believe the battery also has to be fully charged. The outlets are controlled by the ECM. Took me a while to figure this out on my 08 XT a while back also. Thanks.

The bike does not need to be running, but you do need the kill switch and key switch set to on/run, and you need to have a high enough battery voltage for the outlets to turn on. The bike can still be running and the outlets will not work if the voltage is low, so check your battery voltage before jumping to any conclusions.

The ECM controls the accessory line including the heated grips to prevent you from running down the battery, especially at lower RPMs where the stator does not put out as much power.

Froggy, really? I guess I just assumed it had to be running because my outlets worked fine right after I started the engine. I suppose that was just because it was charging enough to let the ECM turn the outlets on... Oh well, thanks!

Froggy is right.
I have my kuryakin voltmeter connected to back of my aux plug. When the bike is cold started, the lights don't come on but if I restart after getting gas, they light up before the engine is running.

The computer is watching youuuu.......

And I think this changed... Low voltage disconnect was a feature added in 2008.

Wow, I wish I would've asked the question before I started troubleshooting. I turned the bike on, let it idle for a minute, and presto- tire pump came on.

It doesn't however work when the bike is off, or with just the key set to run/kill switch off. The bike sits on a tender. Does this mean the battery could be biting the dust?

Nateba, when you say /kill switch off, do you mean it is in the RUN position or do you mean it is in the KILL position? Froggy says "you do need the kill switch and key switch set to on/run".

Turn the key on and set the kill switch to RUN and lets us know how this turns out. Thanks.

Motorbike, I went and re-checked. I misinterpreted it the first time. With the key on, and the on/off switch set to on, the Aux works.

That's good news! Enjoy the bike!

Power at the outlet should occur just about the the same time that the engine light goes out. (08 and later)

Just be careful about using things like air compressors with the engine off. It doesn't take much to suck the battery down past the "I can start a bike" stage, and into the "let's work on your cardio because now you get to push me" stage.

I've experienced the "let's work on your cardio because now you get to push me" stage with this bike. As light as the Uly seems, it's no joke on an incline.
