With the cold mornings now I thought it would be a good idea to let the bike warm up a bit before riding it but the fan came on after a while and thought that this was not good as may have used more battery power than needed.

After looking through the ECM I found that this function is called "extended idle" and ONLY comes in at about 170C, so the bike is warm enough, and it controls the engine temp fine a idle so I have not changed it.

The other thing I was going to do was to change the speed the fan came "on and off" for the same reason but after looking at my logs and the set points in the ECM this is also not needed. The fan only comes on for the temp set points in the VS map as needed IE not at speed if the engine is not up to the set point for that speed.

Now this is PROPER logic control of a system and looks to me as if Buell had taken a lot of time to perfect it. You just need to look at a log to see how stable the engine temp is, in any situation, to understand the results.

Yep they did great with the 2010 fan programming. I played around a little bit with mine, it won't normally run the fan at low speeds like the 2010 programming, but it will still kick on just as much as the old programming after key off.

I tried the acceleration enrichment tweaks you mentioned in another thread, I personally didn't notice any change.

I thought Tunerpro was for 2008-2010 Ulys and ecmspy was for 2007 models and below...

I need to do a little reading I think

I thought that originally ecmspy with megalog viewer was the thing to have. Thought that the tunerpro superseded megalog viewer as being easier and not having to use notepad or switching tween programs. Havent fooled with ecmspy for a couple of years as bike has run good but things have changed with age. I will read more as I would like the updated programs if I am to use them more. I have an 07 x.

Kag - TunerPro is is a generic prog and was made for cars but can be used for bikes as well. You just need the right files all of which you can get from the ECM-SPY, TunerPro and Opti sites for the Buells. I like it because it is all in one prog. It is a VERY powerful prog and you can do most anything with it. Yes you can change fuel maps for a "type of can" etc but that sort of thing needs a very good understanding of EFI systems. Most of the time its best use is to "log a run" to spot any faults and that is easy enough to do once you have it set up.

The thing with MegaLog and ECM-SPY is that you now have to pay for both.

"I tried the acceleration enrichment tweaks you mentioned in another thread, I personally didn't notice any change." Thats a shame Froggy as it worked great on my bike. But then again mine has Euro headers and a Stealth (Drummer like) can. The OEM can has a Cat in it so the ECM map may not be the same as the US version.

Its been very cold here but this bike will still start from 0C and has almost NO idle vibs after 60 seconds at idle. Even pulling away (stone dead cold) from starting is no problem. Amazing from this "old Iron Mill" engine. Mind you these bikes do need 6k miles before they start to work right or at least my bikes did.
