Hi, my 08 was never really running super smooth, but now its worse. Sitting at a stop sign, whatever, when I go to take off, its popping and I have to gas it again to get it up to where I can take off strong enough.

Its always been a bad runner cold, so I accept that part, but its seeming worse even when its warmed up.

Seem like a common problem to anyone, and is there a common solution to try first?

Thanks in advance!

I would start out with new spark plugs.

Have you tried the Throttle Position Reset as described in the owners manual?

It may be an issue with your IAC not providing adequate airflow at low throttle conditions. If the valve is all gunked up it can cause your symptoms. I would remove it and clean it out.

TPS reset first. Free, no parts required...and I'll bet it fixes your issue.

Anybody know who can do the TPS reset for me near Miami?

You don't need the dealer to do a TPS reset on an '08.

Key ON
Killswitch ON
Turn throttle from full ON to full OFF 3 times, holding 1 second at each position. (Don't force, use moderate pressure at stops)
Key OFF
Wait 10 seconds.
DONE!

I'd have to check my 1125 manual...but I want to say it's in the owners manual somewhere. Check the index.

I tried it, better but not great.

I think I need a new ECM tuned for a new exhaust, have to hit the wife up for more Buell money!

She just sprung for the bike and then new tires and painting the wheels and sprockets. But... Christmas is coming!!! : )
