Author Message   Tlr_nate Posted on Monday, November 05, 2012 - 06:08 pm:        I have a 2008 Uly with 16K plus miles on it. A few months ago I had a stumble almost stall issue and did the TPS reset. All has been good. I went to go on a trip with the wife and the problem came back except this time when it does it the neutral light comes on. It does it in any gear and any RPM. I did the TPS reset again, checked all connectors, ECM for cracks, grounds or loose wires. I can see nothing. Any ideas? It is not consistent and now seems to idle and start fine. Well, starts a bit hard like normal. This has me and several shops stumped. Before I take it and let have some have open season for "finding" an issue appreciate feedback. Had to do the trip in a cage!   Conchop Posted on Monday, November 05, 2012 - 07:32 pm:        Change your plugs - NGK iridium - tighten properly Re route your breather Run a tank with Sea Foam Anytime you have a wire disconnected - use dielectric grease. Clean your ground straps trace the neutral light circuit   North_of_55 Posted on Monday, November 05, 2012 - 07:59 pm:        The stumble almost stall thing happens regularly on my '08. Usually starting off from a light. Once or twice it has happened entering traffic from a side street and almost gotten me hit... once it happened riding with my wife and she almost plowed her EX500 into my right leg as I tried to stop the bike from falling over after a complete stall. I've changed the plugs, run the sea-foam and checked as many wire connections as I can get my fingers on.... I am currently blaming my ECM. The resin is cracked around the connectors on my stocker. I'm planning to go EBR-ECM by next year... if I can find enough change in the couch cushions! Better yet, if my friends don't catch me digging around in their couches!   Teeps Posted on Tuesday, November 06, 2012 - 11:51 am:        Cracked solder joint(s) in the ECM is a good possibility, as the symptoms can vary and are random.   Firemanjim Posted on Tuesday, November 06, 2012 - 02:47 pm:        So you are saying that everytime it stumbles the neutral light comes on? Totally confused. Thanks for all the help. Will continue to check stuff but hope I do not need a whole new ECU.   Nobuell Posted on Friday, November 09, 2012 - 01:58 pm:        My 08xt did all kinds of strange things when it was bad. It mostly acted up off idle. You may want to get some new plug wires. Mine went bad and stumbled off idle. I recommend 8mm magnecor.
