with this one - http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycle s-sport-bikes-2008-Buell-Lightning-XB-12-W0QQAdIdZ 426213336

I realize it's not a Ulysses but I guess the bikes are pretty similar.

What would you ask the guy if you were considering buying the bike?

Thanks!

I'd just ask the basic stuff, like has he maintained it OK, has it been wrecked, etc. I'd guess the running issue is minor. It may just need an EBR race ECM to work with the Jardine exhaust.

Mileage and price are super. Throttle problem is worrisome though. Makes you wonder if he's trying to hide something by saying he didn't have time to check it out. At least try to get some more details about that and see if you can have your own mechanic ( if you can find one to do it) look at it.

Sounds like a broken throttle shaft and that just cost $75.00 to fix.

Ok, I'm shameless...

The bike looks clean enough but that does not mean much. You will note, in the last picture, that it is on the back of a pickup truck so it may not run at all. So thats not a very good start is it.

The guy may be honest but the price is not far off for the state of it at the moment anyway. You will not know until you see it and you may need a pickup for it as well to take it away.

The history with these bikes, or any other for that matter, is a BIG thing. Even with a good one you can have faults, I know?

The ad gives few details and to me it smells bad. Its just me but unless I was close to it I would give it a miss as a faulty bike can be a minefield of problems unless you know how to fix it. Ask some questions and see how it goes. Good luck.

1313, just a bad joke, 08's don't have that problem.
