OK, it seems like every time I fix something, I end up breaking something else. Last weekend I had a blown headlight bulb, so I replaced both bulbs. At first everything seemed good, but then I noticed one of the bulbs was intermittently going out. Then last night my turn signals stopped working. When I activate the turn signals, nothing happens. This morning I took the windscreen back off and traced the headlight problem to the wiring harness that attaches to the bulbs. It seems that while I was messing around with the headlight assembly I loosened one of the wires that goes into the connector. I don't know if I need to replace the wiring harness that goes to the headlights or if I can somehow get the wires better seated into the connector again. At least I know where that problem is though. I am afraid my turn signal issue is unrelated. When I was pushing around on the wires going into the connector and getting the light to go on and off, it didn't affect the turn signals. I was never able to get the turn signals to come on. Do any of you have any idea what the problem might be and how someone with few mechanical skills like me might could track it down? Thanks Dan |

Check the steering head ground. Your turn signals ground to the frame there and all those ground wires notoriously break off at that ground point. Happened on my bike and luckily I found it and fixed it right before a homecoming trip to East Troy. |

I don't understand electricity! I found that one of the wires in the headlight harness had been loosened by my bulb replacement and I was able to get it installed securely again, fixing the headlight issue. What I didn't expect was that fixed the turn signal issue as well. So, all is good and now I can take the bike to Alabama for my Dad's surgery. Thanks for your suggestions and thank the Lord the bike is all good again. |

"thank the Lord the bike is all good again." Yes it is in sub section 2.10.21.73 of the HD warranty. "God is not on the side of the big battalions but on the side of those who shoot best" |

I had the ground contact come out of the turn signal relay connector and cause them to stop working. All I did was shove it back Down in there until it clicked. |
