Maybe something like a 2" or are there bars with a rise built in for these? I'm just bent over way to far to the front of this, all my upper body weight is too far forward and leaning over too much. Thanks. | ||

diesel moto makes a spacer too. or you can throw in another OEM handlebar clamp and clam-shell it. i think a generic HD piece might fit ... not sure | ||

HD's use 1" bars, ours are 3/4". I use 1" risers from American Sport Bike, love 'em. No cable change required. | ||

+1 on the ROX risers. Using info on this site, I installed without too much trouble and it works well for me. If I recall, you need to be careful with the throttle cable or it can be pinched in the steering lock. I loosely (very) restrained the cable with a tie strap | ||

okay, sounds} like a generic HD bar clamp will not werk HD's use 1" bars, ours are 3/4". are you measuring ID or OD? cuz i thought they were 7/8 OD ... | ||

That one from Rox looks OK, but is it solid enough? It looks like 2 little nubs just go into the existing riser mount and then it extends up from there. The way a normal HD riser works, they attach through the triple trees and have as much strength as the normal short risers- they sell them up to 6" that I've seen. Any flex in them at all? Thanks, its probably what I'll go with. | ||

I have the rox risers, and they are solid. Those attachment posts (nubs) seemed to be machined from billet (as does the whole piece), so no flex whatsoever. | ||

Rox 2" here too. Took the stress off my back. Recommended. | ||

Make sure you get the Buell modified one! It has longer nubs to get bite in the buell clamp.. | ||

Thanks guys, seems like the way to go. Fubar- yeah, mine is all up in the top of my back- shoulder blades area, with the angle I'm on, from my height, I think its carrying all my weight there, needs to be redistributed. Thx | ||

I have the Rox 2". Don't know about the others, but I could have used an extra pair of hands when installing mine. Juggling the handlebars with all their cables while trying to slip in the riser pieces and lock it down was a bit of a challenge. I got it eventually, but do find that the cables are stretched to their max, so the ability to adjust the bars toward me is severely limited. That said, the riding position is still light years better - it's a wild feeling to have your hands up so high. | ||

I have the 2" rox risers installed as well. I rerouted the brake line outside along the front fork and it has enough length that way to compensate the travel of the fork. The clutch cable is a non issue and is long enough as it is. I'm very happy with it and makes for me a more comfortable ride without pain in the shoulders and neck at the end of the day. | ||

I was lucky and did not have to reroute anything. Of course I have the XT which has a shorter front fork so I loosened the 2 c-clamps and slid the brake line up through the clamps to give it enough length. It was amazing the difference in comfort. I do need to fiddle with it due to my tank bag and the bars interfering with each other. Install could have been easier if I had someone to help. It was a pain by myself. Be sure to move the bars over their complete range of motion to verify your wiring and lines are not binding. | ||

I used 1" risers from Precision Engineering. I really liked them, and they were a lot less costly than most other risers. | ||

Thanks Crusty, I think I need the 2" as a minimum, I'm pretty hunched over when riding. I'm also waiting on my new seat from Tootal that will raise me up a little as well, its the taller seat with no scoop. | ||

Ferris... - I went the other way. '07 seat and the risers. If you go with risers and a taller seat won't that cancel out? | ||

Some, but I want to sit with my legs straighter- I'm 6'5" and want that little extra. Main thing with it is the angle, its a lot of pressure on my shoulders. I'm pushing the bars forward to try and alleviate it as well. | ||
