For the past 10,000 miles or so ye olde Useless (2006) has been running horribly with surging and bucking o'plenty. A post here got me thinking about something last night so I pulled the airbox off and sure enough the butterfly wasn't snapping back with authority. WTF sez me? I took all of the slop out of the cables and it still wasn't right. Wouldn't you know it, the wiring harness for the coil had drooped down and was causing the butterfly's actuator to lightly bind. A zip tie around the wire and velocity stack got the wiring out of the way and guess what? No more bucking or surging or anything - it just runs perfectly. I love my bike again. |

That's awesome! I raised my coil 3/4" which allowed my front plug wire to go between the throttle cables. There are a few things you can do in that area to fix problems. Obviously you found another! |

Yeah, I'm really happy as nothing was curing the surging and carrying on. I'd get it right, it'd come back, I'd do something else, it'd come back... It's always the stupidest thing that's causing the problem. Sometimes that's me! |
