I've read where the early Buells were really tall, 35" seat height- I think my 2008 was supposed to be 33, but I want the 35, does anyone know when they started and stopped with the taller one, and does anyone know of a tall black one for sale, I'm a buyer for it. Thanks in advance! | ||

06 was the tall seat. looking at it, there is no scoop for the rider, it's a flat seat. | ||

It was also available as an accessory up through 09 at least. P/N was N0025.1AKFYW (N0025.1AKAYCE for Barricade Orange version) and it cost $111. IIRC the cover is slightly different from the original 06 seats but the shape is the same. It might be worth checking with your dealer to see if there are any still available. If all you can find is orange or you can't wait on a new seat, you can change the color with spray vinyl dye or have an upholstery shop replace the orange section with black. | ||

i think i have an extra tall one you can have, will check tonite. cant read partnumber on bottom cause the dash number was a paint dot and both tall and short look same numberwise without the dot. gotta put it on the bike and see if i can touch... | ||

The part numbers I posted are for the accessory seat and may not match the original 06 tall seat, but the seats are so different there shouldn't be any doubt if it's "tall" or regular. | ||

Thanks Hughlysses, I was at the dealer today, they looked them up- even though no place in the Rossberger empire had anything. Hard to believe, because they had a really big totally Buell dedicated store in Ft Lauderdale for a few years. | ||

It's the original 06 seat and the same as the "tall" seat. It's fairly flat and then rises up for the passenger but no, it's not all dished out. Here's some pics:   | ||

I find that my 06 seat (its orange) is a bit more comfy foam wise, but is too wide for my legs and rubs them the wrong way. This winter I might reshape it near the peak. | ||
