Wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Or an eight foot czech. Lots of used bikes out there. I assume 'rebuilt' is 'salvage' meaning someone crashed it and it was 'totalled' by the insurance company, then someone 'fixed' it. Could have a bent frame for all you know. Stay Away. |

Agree with Skifastbadly... rebuilt is salvage, can't be financed if needed and I have seen other 2006's for similar prices that have not been wrecked. I would wait for another deal or save a few more dollars. |

I believe it means the bike was wrecked, totaled, someone repaired it and had it inspected by an authorized state official who declared that it had been rebuilt properly and is now road-worthy. The details probably depend on the state the title is issued in. In some states (like SC, where I live) there's no such thing as a "rebuilt" title. Once a vehicle is "totaled", it gets a salvage title. It doesn't matter what you fix on it after that, it's always got a salvage title. My first Buell was an S3 that had been totalled by the insurance company after relatively minor wreck damage. I bought it on ebay for a reasonable price, invested about $500 in parts and tires, and I had a good-running, nice handling Buell S3. If I was considering this Uly, I'd call the seller and then research what the rules are in that state. It just MAY be as good-as-new. OTOH, like Skifast says, it may have a bunch of hidden problems. |

If you could get it for 3K or less and can get state min insurance and your state will license it, then why not. I'd go over it with a fine toothed comb and take it for an extensive ride to see how it ran and felt. If it is A-1 then it "might" be a good deal. Find out what a normal titled 2006 ULY with 17,000 miles is worth and if it near what they are asking then I'd steer clear. If it is way more than $3k then it just might be a good deal. |

I bought a totaled XT, the only damage that I did not repair was the dented swing arm from the the left side lowside. The fork tube was dented from shipping, the handle bars were bent, the primary was broken from the shifter and the bag was cracked. Why they totaled it, I don't know, the frame puck was untouched the bike only had 2000 miles on it and a valid Tennessee license plate. This was a BIG value deal for a cheap skate like me! |

That bike looks pretty rough. On the other hand, the milage and price are quite low. My 2007 now has a salvage title. I was attacked by a corolla, her insurance company went out of their way to make sure it was totalled, and sold it back to me as part of the settlement. I replaced the obviously broken things, unbent the bent bits, and put it back on the road. Then I found some other things that were broken, and had to fix them as well (including the entire rear head and some broken wires in the wiring harness). Then I put it back on the road. And this time it seems "better". Though just about every part of it has some kind of significant cosmetic damage that I choose not to address at this time. So salvage title is something to beware of, but if you bought my 2007 23k mile uly with salvage title, you would be getting a better bike than many other clean title 2007's. But no way I'm selling (though I'd trade for a 2008 - 2010 ). |

My 2007 now has a salvage title You performed a subpar olympic gymnastics routine with that bike- she deserves the title and the right to be ridden again. I still cannot get those damn handguards to fit... |

i have absolutely not against rebuilt or salvage title because my bike was salvaged and i rebuilt it myself. and still have no problems with it. what about this particular bike, the price seems too high for me cause i wasted only $2500 on my bike and the repairs. if you're interested in saving some money i'd recommend you to look at this i.e. http://www.easyexport.us/cars-for-sale/CLEAN_TITLE _2009_BUELL_MOTORCYCLE_21003962 i think it may be sold much cheaper and fixing it yourself you'll be sure about the damages it has. |
