I had a 2008 ULY and the fan always ran for a few minutes after I parked. I just picked up a 2010 XB12X and I haven't heard a peep out of the fan. I know they changed some things does anyone know what they changed in the fan. I rode 100 miles fairly hard and when I stopped no fan? |

The updated fan logic (from the factory on 2010's and updated by dealers on many 2008 and 2009's) turns the fan on at 15 MPH and turns it off below that speed unless the engine gets really hot. The fan apparently doesn't come on after shut off unless it's REALLY hot, so what you experienced is probably normal. Are you sure it wasn't running at speed and you just didn't hear it? That is why it is a good idea to keep an eye on your swing-arm oil temp. Then if the oil exceeded 220 F you'd know you had a major problem. |

It may have come on at speed it never seemed that hot but a XB12X at 75mph creates a bit of wind noise in he helmet. I will listen for it next ride. Thanks... |
