So... while I still havent gotten around to figuring out why my Uly keeps cutting out on me that doesn't keep me from wanting so spend money that I don't have on things that I don't need for it.... So... http://www.madstad.com/s.nl/it.A/id.960/.f or http://s410372035.initial-website.co.uk//accessori es/select-bike/buell-xb12x-xt/ Has anyone seen both in action? |

I have the Madstad and think it is great. Works best all the way up and tilted forward. Easy to adjust with 2 knobs. |

The Madstad is a knockoff of the Palmer bracket, and the Madstad requires you replace the flyscreen. To top it off, the Madstad will set you back nearly twice as much. |

We have had both on the succession of Ulys that have gone through our possession. Palmer is by far the best bang for the buck YRMV |

Buelldualsport how's the quality of one compared to the other? While the Palmer is a better bang for the buck does it fall short in any way that makes the madstad a better product? |

Not in our opinion. Quality workman ship Does the job well. AS noted, good value for the dollar or Pound in this case. |

I asked the same question a while back. At that time at least, the Madstad shipped was cheaper than the Palmer shipped (if you included black powder coating and the tool-less adjusters, both included in the Madstad price). I went Madstad. See my thread here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/651512.html Absolutely beautiful piece, and no complaints whatsoever. |

I liked the MadStad option for a few different reasons. Default black hardware (option on Palmer), they seemed a little lower profile which I liked, all shipping inside US, customer support pretty responsive, and finally a lot of options for shields. Going with their AL flyscreen (which is a nice sturdy mounting piece) I could use either my short or touring shield or I could also go with one of theirs for an even larger option. I can also do a no hole flyscreen with no shield at all for around town in the summer. I just put that on last night and so far I love it. I also really liked the standard model with my stock touring shield. I can't compare the two directly but the MadStad option fits my Uly well as it can transform along with the Uly. |

I got the Palmers and I love them. Also got the bar ends and axle sliders. Turns out I needed them. Put the bike down twice in one day about a month after installing all that. The flyscreen is good in the high position. I've been traveling on the Uly and the repositioned windscreen is invaluable. Mine are all black. |

PS: Your Uly cutting out could be the ECM. Mine did it a few months ago and that was the problem. Look for the tell-tale cracks around the connectors. |

I have had both and prefer the MadStad. The extra support provided by the metal flyscreen make all the difference. |
