So the shop that's had my bike for over 6 weeks now is telling me that all they are waiting for is a race for a bearing in or around the clutch... How many bearings are there? And is this race as hard to get as they are telling me it is?

I'm just getting real fed up with this, it shouldn't take anyone 6 weeks to get parts for a bike that's less than 3 years out of production...

Is it the same as a sportster?

If it was I'd expect them to have it already... The clutch basket is different, I know that much, they ARE interchangeable, but you need to leave the thrust washer off the input shaft if you use the Sportster basket on the Uly (like I'm doing). As far as the bearings go, I do know the basket bearings are different as well, the Buell using a roller bearing, versus the HD using a ball bearing.

Beyond that, I have no idea... That's why I posed this question.

Not sure if they are Sportster parts or what, but most of the parts in that area have Harley part numbers, not Buell part numbers.

I had to replace the needle bearing in the clutch drum (not the basket) on my first '06 Uly. It's a standard Sportster part; dealer had it in stock. Dunno if that's your issue or not. It was making noise and was corroded...too much winter commuting.

Hope they get yours done soon.
