I'm pretty sure I have read some where that people have changed the exhaust headers/manifold on their Ully for bigger diameter ones??? I was just about to wrap my headers when I thought about it so I want to find out more before I go ahead with the wrapping or buy the bigger headers. I have the 08 XT, think the headers are 40mm??? Bigger headers= less exhaust gass restriction = more power???? Thanks in advance (Message edited by weecorey on July 24, 2012) |

Oh I think the Euros make it so that your header's Y is 2 inches instead of 2.5 like ours. I don't know if the rest of the pipe is different though. |

KEDA designs has a larger than stock header design that will be available soon. Also, 2008+ export models like your bike have a different skinnier header than older bikes and 08+ domestic models, you will gain some power by switching them. |

I've changed my '09 headers for the US spec (or pre '08 Euro spec) ones and fitted a Remus muffler. The fuelling is not perfect but it runs far better than before. There is some popping and banging on the overrun but it is a worthwhile improvement. A few people on UKBeg have done the same with similar results. |

I have the Remus and fuel module fitted, I do find the bike lacks a bit of torque at the lower rpms. |

The export bikes ran XB9 headers. If you change to a US-spec header, I'd also put in a US-spec calibration. |
