Looking at a local 2008 uly 25th aniv and it has the painted fender only. Metal is powdercoated; body parts are injection-molded color (the plastic itself is the color). Difference you're seeing is, split fender/fork guards is the X model. Colored fender is the XT model - a "street" version of the "adventure" Ulysses X. The X came stock with longer suspension travel, reinforced rims, no bags, and the different fender. The XT is lower, has standard XB rims, comes with three bags, and has the colormatched fender,.   Froggy Posted on Monday, July 23, 2012 - 10:08 pm:        No Buell has had any painted parts since 2003, it is all powder coat on metal and molded in colors for plastics. Seeing the red ('08) XT with the top case and top case brackets but without the side case brackets in place is not a good thing. I fitted a genuine KTM 990 SM upper fender which I thinks looks real cool, haven't seen one fitted to another Ully yet!
