Reading the manual it states to count the clicks, my knob does not make any clicks or noise at all.

Anyone else come across this?

There is a small ball and a spring inside the knob. The debris block them and you loose the "click".

Can I just unscrew the Phillips head on the knob and clean it somehow?

Mine clicks about every half turn. If cleaning doesnt work you might could make a small mark or dot on the knob, turn it all the way to the right until it stops. Then turn counter clockwise counting your turns.

I dont have a manual, does it say anything about turning it to far to the left. Mine seems to turn in that direction for infinity.
