I haven't gotten a farkle for my Uly for a couple of years, so I sprung for the Palmer Cruiser Peg Set. I've considered them for 5 years now, but they always looked kind of dorky to me. But I figured what the heck and I ordered them.

Anybody have them? How do you like them? Are they really as dorky as I think?

I am considering them... After riding my 91 Springer with forward controls, it is very nice to be able to change seating position. His kit isn't as bad as many out there. You can look at the instructions on-line to get an idea. It is a well thought out kit!

I have had them for about two years and they work for me. They give my bad knees a chance to straighten out. The cruiser peg set is fairly delicate so don't expect to put any weight on it, but it does allow you to give your knees a break.

Palmer is the creator and fabricator of that cruiser peg set. He is here on BadWeb somewhere and I think gives a slight discount to us, but don't hold me to that. I have yet to see any kit in the US.

I had no problem having the Palmer Cruiser Peg Set shipped to Canada in 2010.

Noted. Never done that before. Im going to see how she rides when I install the lowering collar thats coming in the mail today and the rox riser that I have coming. Leaning towards picking them up though.

lol, I have the lowering collar and Rox risers to install as well. I even have the lowered Gel seat and an original 2006 X seat coming to find the most comfortable riding position. As it is I have to mount the beast like a horse and stand on the peg to get my stubby legs over the saddlebags. Not even sure my short legs would reach the Palmer highway bar pegs! LMAO

I love this machine though!

You and me both commando. Just finished the lowering collar. What a pain when all you have is 2x4's and a regular floor jack. Thought I lost her twice. Could not get my crappy straps to pull down the coil spring either. Ended up jacking up my car, putting the spring under the frame with a board on top and lowering the car. The first time the spring shot out from under the car across the shop. I pooped a little. Then tried it again. Got it compressed then installed my straps and jacked the car off the spring. Gotta do what ya gotta do right. The only thing that I see about the collar is the indentions on the collar that should keep the spring from rotating inside the collar did not fit around the shock base. So the spring collar etc could rotate during riding. It might cause a problem if the spring rotates around to where the gap is in the collar for the shock adjustment screw. Havent figured out what I'm going to do with that yet. It lowered it round a half in or better it seems. Can hold the bike upright and have one foot flatfooted. Little sliding of the cheeks on the seat still but very happy with it still. Best of luck on your install.

Bking I would like to see some pictures after you get them installed,if possible it would be greatly appreciated,I have to do something for longer trips for my knees also,been looking at a way to mount some old bates rubber pegs off the muffler,gotta do something.

I had to shrink the pic to upload it. It makes them hard to see but they blend into the bike pretty good.

no problem on the left scoop but if you have the right scoop, it hits but I just took a drill and made a slot for it.

This was on the way to Idaho, notice the hanging shift linkage....

Bet it does the job for sure. Reminds me of the creatures from the aliens movies. Foot pegs look like they belong. I'm sure they are a nice being able to change position.

Tall windshield, home made memphis shades, lowered pegs, bar risers, handle bars rotated back, palmer crusier setup with the stock pegs, happy trail panniers makes long trips fun. Swapping out the windshield, removing the bags, bar risers, and rotating the handlebars front makes short trips fun.,..

Put on the Highway Peg Kit yesterday. Straightforward instructions on Palmer's web site. Took me a couple of hours. Hardest part was working around my right air scoop. Seem sturdy and fit and finish is good.

Today with my wife on the back, took it out for a 125 miles of mountain roads and highway.

First impression is that they are more of a stretch than I thought they would be. Can't see them from the saddle. Hot, in the 90's today and my right leg was definitely cooler on the forward pegs. I think I'll really like being able to stretch out.

Taking 3 days riding around Glacier and Banff in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to checking them out then.

Thanks for all of the pics ... looks good. I'll hopefully have an excuse to get mine on this fall sometime. On a related note, does anyone happen to have a link to the thread where someone made up a little bracket for the Palmers so that he did not have to cut into the right side air scoop? I remember seeing it a while back, but now can't seem to find it. Thanks

Was looking closer at the palmer site and read that the kit does not come with foot pegs and you are supposed to use the passenger pegs already mounted to your bike or buy a set of pegs from the for $50.

If you use the ones from the buell they said they will not fold in.
