...actually much better than well!

Went to stay with some friends in Colorado Springs so took the Uly with. Did about 400 miles through some stunningly beautiful roads in the CO Rockies on Saturday, and road to the top of Pikes Peak today.

The bike ran FLAWLESSLY. 52.5 mpg, fully loaded, 2 up and running it hard through the mountains. No oil consumption, no belt issues, be bearing issues etc. Boy, do I love this bike!

Just figured I'd share, since we don't see too many posts like this : )

I'll throw some pics up in a bit- Sam road with me and carried her D90, so we got some great shots!

Very cool, Andy. Thanks for the post. I had a great ride in South Texas today as well. I, too, love my Uly! A special bike, for sure!

I did a 300 mile tour through SE MN bluff country and some trout fishing this weekend.
Hot out but the bike ran and rode great.

Looks like a great time! I'm headed there in September. I hope we have as nice a day as you guys did.

Oh, and I love my Uly too.

Thanks.

It's an Air Hawk pad. Belongs I our friends out there- Sam borrowed it for the day. Honestly, pretty unimpressed. Adds a degree of comfort, but too thick and the air shifts around so much that she was constantly fighting shifting back and forth...

Andy, the secret with the Airhawk is to put just the smallest amount of air imaginable in it. Barely inflate it and then squeeze most of that air out! I use one on my sv650 - the seat is a torture rack without the airhawk.

Lovely pictures!

Jesse

Thanks.

Stock mounts and bags, with the inserts painted the frame color.

Mirrors are factory 1125CR mirrors- they have integrated led turn signals.

And black- lots and lots of black ; ) I like to keep my powder coater busy!

Andy, not trying to hijack your thread. What did you do for the holes where the old blinkers used to be? My face is pressed against my monitor but I cant see. Thanks

No worries. It's tough to see because one side is broken! Here is an old pic:

They are black anodized 24 watt LED spot lights. I have them relayed to turn on with my high beam. Really makes mini vans get out of your way ; )}
