Now that it is 110+ deg F every day, I entertain myself by thinking about winter riding. My question is, what would be the highest temperature at which it would be safe to cover the oil cooler in everyday type riding?

I have been using a block of foam wedged into the scoop and put blocker in when the temperature is 40F or lower. Typically, this is only on the morning ride in to work, I remove the foam to ride to lunch, or home.

I'm wondering if it is OK to have the airflow blocked when it is even warmer? What is the limit?

My limit for using the rag is about 20°. Even at freezing temps, I think the oil gets and stays warm enough to be ok. Of course I let mine warm up before I ever climb on, even in hot weather.
